Communications

The Communications working group has been tasked with ensuring that effective communication takes places between the SURVIVE working groups, with other interested stakeholders and the public. A key role of the working group is to ensure that the activities and recommendations of SURVIVE are promoted and targeted at the correct audience.

  • Association of Chief Police Officers
  • Automobile Association
  • Green Flag Motoring Assistance
  • Highways Agency
  • RAC Motoring Services

Current issues being addressed by the Working Group

  • Development and production of a leaflet which provides the travelling public with guidance on what to do if they have to stop on the hard shoulder.
  • Development of a SURVIVE website aimed at making the work of the executive and working group more widely available to members of the breakdown/recovery industry and the travelling public.

    I have come up with an idea which I believe would significantly reduce accidents on the hard shoulder.
    I need to find further information and evidence whether it is worth developing the concept further.
    I would appreciate any help, advice or guidance in this matter.
