Conspicuity

The Conspicuity working group has been set up to agree the best means of ensuring the safety of those who either work on or use the strategic road network by the use of vehicle and operator conspicuity measures.

Current issues being addressed by the Working Group

  • Use of red and amber lights – The Agency is putting in place a commission to collect accident and near miss data from traffic officers on the use of red and amber lights, and also driver response to the use of these lights.
  • Use of 610 arrow signs by the recovery industry.
